Seated Calf Raises for Calf Strain - Welsh Athletics Injury Exercises Series

Calf strains are a common sports injury that occur when the muscles are overloaded or overstretched resulting in a tear.

Maintaining strong calves is one way to help avoid injuries. Exercises like single leg seated or standing calf raises are useful for this.

In this video, Welsh Athletics Lead Performance Physiotherapist, Adam Rattenberry, looks at one way to do seated calf raises. A video of standing calf raises can be found here: Standing Calf Raises for Calf Strain

Please bear in mind that this video intended as a demonstration. If you have an injury or niggle, you should always seek advice from a medical professional to address it or discuss options for injury prevention.
