England Netball Taping Series – Shin Splints Taping Tutorial

Shin splints are essentially an RSI (Repetitive Strain Injury) that leads to inflammation of the muscles, tissues and tendons on top of the shin bones in the lower leg which is the cause of the pain felt.

While not usually serious, shin splints will generally get better within a few weeks with sensible loading. Including taping to this regime can help add some support.

Take a look at this video we created with England Netball as their Pathway Physiotherapist, Nick Carpenter-Brooks, shows us an example of taping for shin splints using Tiger Tapes available from Physique.

While this video shows a great example of shin splint taping we recommend you don’t try to tape yourself unless you are medically trained and always seek medical advice for injuries.

This video is part of our England Netball Taping Series which demonstrates a range of taping techniques and tutorials for netball.
