Bristol Flyers - Thumb Strain Taping for Basketball
A sprained thumb is a common injury in basketball that occurs when the ligament in the thumb is stretched or torn. As the thumb bends out of its normal range of movement, it causes damage to ligaments at the base of the thumb at the MCP joint (metacarpophalangeal joint).
Sports Therapist for the Bristol Flyers basketball team demonstrates a taping technique using Tiger Club elastic adhesive bandage to help protect the thumb from rotation. This video is a suggestion only, if you have an injury please seek professional advice.
